What Remains by Carole Radziwill

The first book to make me cry*. Like, put the book down, go grab a tissue, sit on the rim of the bathtub, and cry for five minutes. And then cry the next day at work when you just think about the book. This is one beautifully told story.

*Welllll…second. I teared up at the end of Freedom by Jonathan Franzen. Hardly a “cry.”

OK, HAS ANYBODY SEEN THIS MOVIE?!

Ho.Ly. Shit. This movie is….I really don’t have words.

Compliance is a movie based on true events (true events that I remember watching on 20/20 ten or so years ago), and OHMYGOD is it disturbing. This is the first movie that I have ever seen where HALF of the crowd walked out saying things like “This is DISGUSTING” or “This is the WORST movie I have ever seen!” And I have to say, I agree with them. This movie was disgusting, and it was the worst thing I have ever seen, but in a year where women’s rights are being invaded by rich, powerful men, this movie is so, so, so important.

Go see it, and even though it’s hard to watch, stay through to the very end.

Is anyone else watching Episodes on Showtime????? I thought season 1 was pretty good, and GOL (gasped-out-loud) when the big shocker came in the second to last episode (no spoilers!). But the show really hits its stride in season 2, and I believe it’s one of the funniest shows on tv right now. Watch it!

Carole Radziwill! Just when I was about to give up on the Real Housewives franchise, Bravo re-vamps the NYC cast, and includes Carole Radziwill (she married into the Kennedy family, worked for ABC news, and wrote a best-selling memoir about the death of her husband). She is awesome. And she doesn’t give a fuck. I will continue watching RHONY just for this woman.

Also, there is a new cast member who only has one leg.
